The village of Holčovice is located in the foothills of the Jeseník Mountains, where many original wooden houses and other buildings from the times when the area was inhabited by the German-speaking population have been preserved.
The wide surroundings offer a wide variety of trails and interesting places for hiking and cycling, Holčovice passes through the route of a long-distance cycle path known as the Silesian Highway, which is followed by a local cycle route in the village, which can be followed southwards through Karlovice and Vrbno to Karlova Studánka.
The green and blue hiking trail passes through Holčovice. The blue trail in the northern direction takes you over the top of Solná hora (867 m) to Vojtěch's Spring. In the south-western direction along the blue trail you will reach the town of Vrbno pod Pradědem.
If you head northwest from Holčovice, follow the green trail to the village of Heřmanovice. In the southeast direction the green trail will lead us to the town of Albrechtice.
Other places worth mentioning are the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area, Rejvíz, Praděd, Oblík near the girls' castle with a fossil site, Liptáňský boulder, the seat of the former principality of Krnov, or spa places such as Lázně Lipová, Jeseník, Karlova Studánka, the ancient mining town of Zlaté Hory with the pilgrimage site of Mariahilfe.
In the Komora valley, mineral water with a faint smell of hydrogen sulphide springs from a depth of 1200m underground and is called hungry water, after drinking several glasses, the appetite is whetted, besides it is said to have a beneficial effect on manhood and female beauty.
The foothills of the Low Jeseník offer a landscape rich in hiking, sports, mushroom picking and hunting.
